Training and Use

To prepare for exploring the Moon during NASA’s Artemis campaign, the agency is conducting field tests in the lunar-like landscape of San Francisco Volcanic Field near Flagstaff, Arizona to practice moonwalk scenarios.

In collaboration with Nasa, Atlas Devices and Blue Origin The project was created to give astronauts the ability to train on earth for missions on the lunar surface. This is the first time astronauts are able to do this type of training outside of the Neutral Buoyancy Lab

The goal was to use Nasa's existing suit design,  the XEMU and create a cost effective version that is ergonomically and functionally correct to use for training astronauts long term
